Our History

In 1996, a young pediatrician in Denver founded Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics (RMYC) because he recognized a gap in the Colorado healthcare system that left many children without access to healthcare.  Dr. Larry Wolk opened the first RMYC clinic in downtown Denver with the help of a few close friends who were dedicated to offering high-quality, affordable care to children without insurance.  The need for such a clinic was greater than Dr. Wolk had imagined, which caused RMYC to expand the organization to multiple locations across the Denver-metro area.  As the organization grew, its mission as a non-profit never wavered — to provide accessible, affordable, high-quality health care and support programs to infants, children, and youth across Colorado regardless of their insurance status or family’s ability to pay.

In 2018, the organization rebranded to become Every Child Pediatrics, which marked 22 years serving children in Colorado.  Our history has taken us from a single office with 2,000 patient visits each year to the largest pediatric practice in Colorado.  Today, Every Child Pediatrics has 12 medical offices and serves nearly 24,000 patients each year.  We remain committed to every child, regardless of their ability to pay.

You can learn more about Dr. Larry Wolk and how his legacy continues today through the Every Child Pediatrics Founder’s Circle of major donors.  This group of philanthropists works to ensure every child in Colorado has access to health care, regardless of their ability to pay.

H.E.A.L.T.H. is our core

Our dedicated and experienced pediatricians and medical professionals follow the patient-centered, Medical Home approach to care, providing a personalized, welcoming and culturally-responsive environment for children and families of all backgrounds.

To address the root causes of children’s health care inequity in Colorado, Every Child Pediatrics has adopted these core values to drive our organization:

Health Care Integration

We believe it takes a team of diverse and devoted professionals to provide services that improve health outcomes. We are committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality, integrated care that includes medical, dental, and behavioral health as well as family support services. We coordinate services with our community partners, and we empower patients and their families with information and links to outside community resources, so they, too, can build a strong foundation for success and well-being.

Equity and Inclusivity

We exist to serve marginalized communities, and we believe everyone should be welcomed and treated with respect regarding their unique background and socio-economic status. Our programs and services are delivered in a manner that is sensitive to a family’s culture, language, beliefs, and values.

Accessibility and Affordability

Receiving health care services should not place financial stress on families. We strive to be accessible and offer affordable care to all our patients. Patients can schedule appointments during regular and extended hours, and they can communicate with our clinical team in a variety of ways to ensure their needs are met. We help families get the care they need, regardless of their ability to pay.

We create a welcoming, compassionate, empathetic, respectful, safe, and trustworthy environment for patients, their families, and staff. We take the time to listen and understand patient needs and perspectives. Our patient families can trust that we have their best interests at heart.

We believe that everyone plays an important role in the organization. Every staff member works to support the larger team and overall mission. We support one another through communicating clearly, respecting one another’s roles and responsibilities, working hard, collaborating, and showing flexibility to get the job done.

High Standards

Every Child Pediatrics attracts top talent, and we strive to be a national model for comprehensive pediatric care. We are experts in our fields, and we are knowledgeable about medical interventions and community resources. We continually ask ourselves, “How can we be better?”, and we take action to improve. We are committed to providing high quality care to all our patients and their families.
