Every Child Pediatrics believes in the power of reading and literacy, and we are honored to have worked with Reach Out and Read Colorado for over 20 years. Reach out and Read Colorado recently visited the Aurora office, where they celebrated the staff’s continued focus on literacy. Together we have put more than 61,000 books in the hands of our patients!
Read Out and Read Colorado is an organization that champions the positive effects of establishing daily reading habits with young children. Reading together not only helps children develop a lifelong love of books, but also promotes healthy brain development, furthers language acquisition, and helps families build meaningful bonds. Their mission is to prescribe reading to all children, providing them with the tools and knowledge for future success.
In addition to the Aurora literacy program, we offer free books to patients in all of our offices. This program helps support school readiness and healthy development, and each patient gets to choose their own book from a wide selection of age-appropriate materials.
